MORE ABOUT EDDY:
I am a strategic marketing professional located in the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex. I started my life of consulting with 29 Agency, a new boutique ad agency in DFW, helping them with marketing their services and cultivating new accounts for them. Prior to starting my consultancy firm, I was the Director of Marketing at BellTower Technologies, a telecommunications start-up, where I managed all aspects of market strategy and tactics, including market analysis and sizing, copy writing & marketing communications, distribution of marketing material, formulation of strategic marketing campaigns (PPC, direct mail, and email), and production of marketing and customer educational videos. I created and maintained processes to ensure that we had the most relevant market data, and then wrote focused reports that allowed the CEO to make strategic business decisions. In addition, I maintained the overall corporate image for the company, interacting with ad agencies and PR executives to maximize our brand exposure.
Prior to that, I was a political appointee in Washington, DC, where I had over 6 years of federal government experience at the highest levels. I took over a low-profile White House Initiative and re-established it as the focal point for domestic policy discussion and economic development within the Asian American/Pacific Islander community. I also acted as the main Asian American public speaking surrogate for the President and the White House, and worked with decision-makers in the White House and the President's Advisory Commission on AAPIs to provide policy recommendations to the President on the needs and concerns of this population.
Previously, I served as Senior Associate at the Overseas Private Investment Corporation. Specializing in business development and economic growth, I educated and assisted U.S. businesses as they prepared to invest in foreign emerging markets. Prior to OPIC, I was a congressional advisor at the U.S. Department of State. Focusing on Middle East policy, I acted as the lead conduit between the State Department and lawmakers on Capitol Hill. In addition to my efforts on Middle East legislation, I worked with top State Department officials on a variety of global issues, including the United Nations, trafficking in persons, democracy development, and human rights. I began my career as an associate at the Corporate Executive Board, a best practices research firm located in Washington, DC. My favorite jobs, however, were guiding in the Colorado backcountry, and being a camp counselor at Kanakuk sports camps in Missouri.
Active in the community, I am a member of Watermark Community Church, and serve in a number of capacities there. I also serve on the host committee for the Great Investors’ Best Ideas Foundation Investment Symposium. During my time in DC, I tutored Asian American high school students, and was a member of the Texas State Society and Texas A&M University’s Association of Former Students. I had the privilege of being on the Smithsonian Institution’s National Advisory Council for the Filipino American Centennial Commemoration, as well as on the committee for AsianWeek Magazine’s 25th Anniversary.
